Superstructure

Superstructures

Superstructure

The deck superstrucutres are mounted onto the completed teak deck.

First of all we attach brackets to ensure the optimal positioning of the side pieces.

We then attach the side pieces.

Pressing down

The side pieces are pressed down with clamps, so that they fit and adhere exactly at the right angle to the deck.

All around

The side pieces are positioned into the desired form all around the yacht using clamps and then glued with a special resin.

The round forms are especially difficult to build.

Rounding

A curved shape can only be achieved with great force.

Glue and wedges

A stabilising wedge is slowly driven in on the inside to help achieve the perfect form.

Durability

Clamps, resin and, in this case, a wedge are all necessary to ensure that the wooden pieces maintain this exact curved shape over decades.

The coach roof

Coach roof

Every coach roof beam is measured and fitted exactly.

Clamps

Clamps achieve the exact pre-calculated curvature of the coach roof.

Here, you can clearly see the overall shape of the coach roof.

The middle bar of this yacht was reinforced. The small notch with reinforcement at the forepart of the construction will later accomodate the mast.

Protective covering before varnishing

Protective covering

Every opening

Our boat builders carefully cover up all the openings, the teak strip deck and the cove strip, so that no varnish can seap through.

Protective covering

We put a protective covering over the entire hull before varnishing.

Protective covering

Sometimes the hull is being varnished (base coat) while work is still being completed on the superstructure.
We put a protective covering around the hull, to protect this coat of varnish from scratches during the further stages of building.

Varnishing the hull

Our boat builders varnish the entire yacht with rollers and brushes.

Repeating

Every part is varnished repeatedly - up to 10 times.

Engine boats

We also varnish motor boats in this way.

Removing the covering

We do not remove the covering until the last coat of varnish is dry.

Finished

The varnishing has been completed, yet the yacht still does not shine. This is achieved by polishing.

Varnishing the interior

Varnishing inside

Varnishing inside

Each piece of furniture is carefully varnished with a roller.

Brush

The white spaces between the pieces of mahogany are painted with a brush.
White brings up the shine of the mahogany so well.

Detail work

Every edge and corner is varnished at least four times.

Honing

Honing

Our boat builders smooth the surface to perfection with fine sand paper.

Polishing

Afterwards the hull is polished to high gloss.

The gold edging

Gold edging

The yacht with the gold edging

To enhance the exquisite mahogany work, we use gold leaf for the lines, the name and the registration number. The advantage of this is that it does not oxidise.

Specialists apply this by hand.

It adds that special touch that you and your yacht are worth.

Signature

Every detail shows the signature of the Shipyard.

Every single letter is drawn onto the mahogany in filligree work using gold leaf.
